APPA represents affiliated state and territory Government, Catholic and Independent primary schools across the nation with over 7,000 members. It is the national voice on national issues and speaks directly to the Federal Government on matters that concern school principals and their school communities.

Teacher Quality Institute

For over a decade, the education profession in the ACT and nationally has been engaged in debate about the status of teaching and the need to support teachers in improving outcomes for students. In the ACT, consultation within the teaching profession, with government, with teacher educators, teacher unions and other professional organisations resulted in a call for an independent body to set standards, register teachers and promote professional learning.
